Former Warwick student target bullseye at Paris 2024

Local athlete Tom Hall has been selected as part of Team GB’s archery squad at this summer’s Paris Olympics.

Tom, a former student at the University of Warwick, first took up archery in his second year of university whilst browsing sports clubs at the freshers fair. It was clear this was his sport, with Tom going on to compete at increasingly higher levels, before finally earning his spot on the national team in 2015.

Having taken an extension from his PhD studies, as well as rehabbing from a serious injury just before the Tokyo Olympics, Tom knows what it takes to secure a place in the Olympic squad. This year, he hopes to go one step further and earn a spot on the podium in Paris this July.

On the news of his selection for Paris 2024, Tom Hall said:

"As my second games, Paris is a phenomenal achievement and I hope that as a team we can raise the profile of the sport to as many people as possible. Last year was a fantastic year for me personally, having won the National Tour Finals and the UK Masters, but competing at Paris is fantastic.

"I hope to inspire people to take up a sport that they might never have thought about before, whether that's archery or something else. We all have so much potential and speaking from personal experience, it's never too late to give something a new try."
