The hotel is offering afternoon tea for just £30 per couple - £17 less than its usually price – and it’s open to any two people, not just couples, who want to treat someone they care about.

The St Valentine’s Afternoon Tea will be served from 12.30pm until 4.30pm every day and includes a selection of finger sandwiches and an array of sumptuous sweet treats, all served alongside a variety of teas and coffees.

Amy Windsor, general manager of the award-winning Telegraph Hotel, said: “Our afternoon teas have proved very popular – not only because of the great selection of savoury and sweet food on offer, but also because of the fantastic setting in our glazed restaurant.

“We wanted to mark this special month by creating an afternoon tea offer that would give more people the opportunity to come and give our menu a try and celebrate with someone they care about.

“It doesn’t have to be a romantic couple. It could be two friends, a mum and daughter, a grandparent and grandchild – anyone who you want to spend a special afternoon with enjoying wonderful food in such a special venue.

“We’ve all spent the whole of January trying to be ‘good’ after the festive period so this is a great way to indulge and if you want to be a little bit naughty you can splash out on some cocktails with the saving!”

As well as finger sandwiches and a variety of sweet treats, afternoon tea also includes classic plain and fruit scones served with clotted cream and preserves, of which more than 16,000 have been served since the Telegraph Hotel opened in 2021.
