Each year, the Spa Centre nominates a charity to collect audience donations during its festive pantomime run, providing a vital fundraising opportunity. With last year’s total reaching approximately £9,500, SWFT Charity approached the project with great enthusiasm, aiming to achieve a similar outcome.
The scale of the operation was no small feat. With 37 performances taking place throughout December and early January, a team of volunteers were needed for every performance. SWFT Charity worked closely with its Volunteer Services team to coordinate recruitment and scheduling, utilising the Better Impact system to streamline sign-ups. In total, over 65 dedicated volunteers - supported by family and friends - gave their time, collectively contributing over ONE HUNDRED hours to ensure the fundraising effort’s success.
The generosity of audiences exceeded expectations, resulting in a record-breaking total that will go directly toward funding vital oxygen equipment for use in the community. This essential equipment will support patients requiring respiratory care, enhancing local healthcare services provided by South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust.
SWFT Charity expressed its deep gratitude to everyone involved in making this initiative such a success, including the Royal Spa Centre staff, the talented cast and crew, the incredible volunteers, SWFT Volunteer Services and every audience member who contributed.
This achievement highlights the power of local collaboration and the vital role that charitable giving plays in supporting healthcare services. Through initiatives like this, SWFT Charity continues to make a tangible difference in the lives of patients across South Warwickshire.
