Due to numerous requests from teachers for a recognised qualification in touch typing to validate their learners’ digital skills, KAZ Type partnered with Open Awards to produce the qualification - Level 1 (4 credits) & Level 2 (6 credits), which will add to successful candidate’s educational records.
Despite the current climate and the fact that teaching the skill is not on the curriculum, independent and state schools are showing interest in entering their KS3 and SEN pupils for the exam to prepare them for further/higher education and the future. Colleges are planning to offer the qualifications to their learners to prepare them for the workplace.
The inclusive touch typing course and qualification, suitable for both mainstream and neuro-divergent learners, is available to individuals, schools, colleges, businesses and organisations who wish to upskill their staff.
Duke of Edinburgh Award
Having recently become an Accredited Skills Provider for the Duke of Edinburgh Award’s Scheme, KAZ Type is offering youngsters the chance to attain a duet of accomplishments. They are offering participants the opportunity to learn the modern day ‘life skill’ of touch typing towards the ‘skills’ section of their Bronze, Silver and Gold awards and gain a National qualification at the same time – achieving both award and qualification simultaneously.
Ethos
The company’s ethos is to educate and make a difference in all learner’s lives through innovation and technology. They already offer courses suitable for both mainstream and neuro-divergent learners and are currently working with the Thomas Pocklington Trust to develop and produce an edition which will meet the needs of the visually impaired.
