Over at the Canal Basin, the team at the Tin is presenting an eclectic mix of artists over three shows. 

The two venues are representing Coventry and joining the rest of the UK in celebrating Independent Venue Week 2023, which runs from Saturday, January 28 until Sunday, February 5.

Hannah Pierce, General Manager at Drapers’ Hall for Historic Coventry Trust, said: “We’re delighted to be part of Independent Venue Week again this year and, alongside our friends at the Tin, look forward to welcoming audiences to try something new and to support their live music venues.

“Between the shows we’re presenting and those at the Tin, we think there’s something for everyone. This is about music fans coming out to be entertained and be part of a very important week for live music.”

Drapers’ Hall’s Independent Venue Week shows begin with a double headline show with Tankus the Henge front man Jaz Delorean and Ghanaian multi-dimensional artist K.O.G performing acoustic sets on Saturday, January 28 at 8pm. 

A piano showcase from Alicja Fiderkiewicz will delight audiences at 1pm on Wednesday, February 1 as part of the popular Mostly Piano series in the Ballroom. 

Impressive Jazz troupe Ill Considered will wrap up the Drapers’ Hall shows on Friday, February 3 at 8pm.  

The Tin Music and Arts is hosting two nights of national touring acts. On Thursday, February 2, Fire Records bring a triple bill of their artists, headlined by Amber Arcades, starting at 7.30pm and the following night Ruby Ra, a London post-punk artist who is about to take the UK by storm, will be supported by local electronic dream-pop band, Paradise of the Titans, in a show which begins at 7.30pm.

Local singer/songwriter Ian Todd will end the programme at the Tin on Saturday, February 4 at 7.30pm.

Sarah Morgan, Director and Programmer at the Tin, said: “This will be the 10th anniversary of Independent Venue Week and we have taken part every year since 2015 so it really has an important place in our calendar of events.

"We’re really excited about teaming up with Drapers’ Hall and look forward to working with them to show off our venues and support independent music during a typically quiet month.”
