Snacks and drinks are available on two floors as well as in an attractive outdoor seating area. Shoppers in need of refreshment are promised ‘beverages hand-crafted by coffee fanatics but not coffee snobs.’

In addition to freshly roasted artisan coffee, a range of teas, milkshakes and smoothies are also proving popular. Snacks include breakfast muffins, toasties and paninis, while the bakery offers a range of cakes and slices.

Steve Browne, general manager of Heart of England Co-op food division, says that there has already been a ‘huge amount of positive feedback.’

“It’s early days of course but sales have been really encouraging. We even had one gentleman pay three visits in one day and we soon received our first five-star review.

“We’ve also started to get students coming in to use the quieter upstairs space to grab a coffee and do a bit of studying.”

The Bewiched brand was founded in 2010 by Northampton businessman Matt Fountain. His first site opened in Wellingborough and his second in Kettering was next door to a Costa. It proved to be an outstanding success and the Bewiched brand has since taken off in style. Its first joint venture with the Heart of England Co-op saw the opening of a coffee shop in Balsall Common, Solihull.

Heart of England Co-op chief executive Ali Kurji said the Society is delighted to be furthering its links with Bewiched.

“This is just the start of our coffee journey. It’s a pleasure to be working with a local company which has thrived in competition with world leading coffee brands.

“We share similar values and are confident that the people of Leamington Spa will be bewitched by the Bewiched brand!”

The Leamington Spa coffee shop, which has created a dozen new jobs, is open from 7am to 7.30pm, Monday to Saturday, and 9am to 5pm on Sundays.
