The theme was the Future of the Economy and the delegation heard from a range of speakers from industry and politics.
After BCC Director General Shevaun Haviland set out the Chamber network’s key asks of the next Government – ahead of the Genera Election on Thursday (July 4) – delegates heard from Jonathan Reynolds, Shadow Secretary of State for Business and Trade, before the event was concluded with an address from Kemi Badenoch, Secretary of State for Business and Trade.
Both offered a direct pitch to businesses in the room before taking questions.
Corin Crane, chief executive of the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “It was great to take a delegation of businesses from this region down to the BCC’s Annual Conference – we were extremely well represented.
“Both Jonathan Reynolds and Kemi Badenoch made their final pitch to businesses in the room and, what’s important now is that everyone gets out and votes.
“The Chamber is the voice of business, seven days a week, 52 weeks of the year, but every company owner and every member of staff can also make themselves heard by making sure they vote on Thursday.
“Regionally, we’ve called for more employment land, for a razor sharp focus on skills and for a reduction in the cost of doing business and, whoever wins on Thursday, we’ll be pushing on those issues and everything else that matters to our members from day one.”
