Across the sold-out exhibition floor, visitors can expect to see the latest in 3D printing, fasteners and adhesives, design software, drives and controls, embedded systems, labelling, motion control, PCB manufacture and assembly, laser marking and more.
Headline Sponsors Powell Electronics, Solsta and Wurth Electronics will return to the event, which is set to attract around 4,500 people to Coventry Building Society Arena on Wednesday and Thursday, October 9 and 10.
They will be joined by Dassault Systemes, sponsors of The Engineer Conference Theatre, QRA, sponsors of the very popular EDS Party, ConeX, sponsors of the new Start-Up Zone and registration sponsors Thermal Vision Research.
More than 50 hours of free learning will be delivered by leading researchers, academics and engineers across three conference theatres. Sessions on socially assistive robots, protecting intellectual property in the age of AI and British Olympic track bike development, promise to be among the highlights.
Practical workshops, designed to connect and inspire attendees with key takeaways, will explore topics such as high-speed data communication and maximising the potential of multiphysics simulation.
Nottingham Trent University will showcase 25 of their newly-graduated product designers whose work was recently exhibited at New Designers in London, securing outstanding recognition from prestigious brands such as Dyson, Kenwood and Unilever.
Additionally, second-year product design students will exhibit their collaborative project with industry partner Trampboards. The Trampaboard team will be on hand to talk about the project’s innovative VESC system and how students have applied this technology in their robots.
The Innovation Zone will display an exciting selection of design work, including Creative Hubb Limited’s EOD Bomb Disposal Suit, while Start-Up Zone visitors can view products from an exceptional line-up of companies including Structural Evolution, Electrogear Solutions, Infinecity and HAL Robotics.
Simon Bonell, Event Director at The Engineering Design Show, said the event “offers a brilliant opportunity for design engineers to network and be inspired.”
He said: “With more than 200 leading exhibitors confirmed, as well as a host of influential guest speakers, lectures and workshops, the EDS is reinforcing its standing as the UK’s biggest event for engineering, electronics, and embedded design.
“For an industry that never stands still, it’s incredibly important to have free events like this to innovate, inform and shine a light on the brilliant young minds coming through.
“This is our twelfth year working with Coventry Building Society Arena. Without question, their support has helped us to make this show what it is today.”
Jenni Ford, Director of Sales and Marketing at Coventry Building Society Arena, said: “There really is no better place for UK design engineers to source the latest products and suppliers, find inspiration and connect.
“The Engineering Design Show will also give visitors a chance to meet and greet the next generation of industry superstars! It’s a totally unmissable event for anyone in what is always a fast-moving sector.”
