The free-of-charge round-table discussion will take place on Wednesday, September 27 at The Wilkes Partnership office on Church Street in Birmingham.
The workshop facilitators from each business regularly work with each other on merger and acquisition deals.
Simon Chapman, partner at Burgis & Bullock, is a mergers and acquisitions advisor and valuations expert with 25 years’ experience in the sector and will be one of the panel of specialists
He will be joined by Rick Smyth, of The Wilkes Partnership, a corporate lawyer with over 20 years’ experience in corporate finance and transactions.
Ian Butler, of Margetts Wealth Management, completes the trio and brings more than 20 years’ experience of advising business owners in the SME market.
The trio will be discussing topics including objectives for selling, exit options, valuations, wealth planning, financial preparation, legal preparation and how to avoid the common mistakes when selling a business.
It will see a maximum of six business owners in attendance and the organisers will ensure that participants are from different industries to avoid any confidentiality challenges.
Simon Chapman said: “In many cases business owners will have spent decades building their company and, in recognition of that work, when the time is right to sell it is crucial they are able to achieve maximum returns.
“We have been running workshops like this for five years and the average time between a business owner attending the workshop and selling their business is two years.
“They have proved hugely successful and have helped owner-manager businesses to ensure they do not lose out in corporate deals.
“We draw on our experience and strategies we have used previously with clients to give attendees insights on how best to plan for selling their business – whether that is in the next six months or in several years’ time.”
The next business sale planning workshop will take place at 8am on Wednesday, September 27. For more information to make a booking email Simon Chapman on [email protected]
