The exact client brief was as follows:
“Whilst there is nothing intrinsically wrong with the existing website, we want to make it look more current and add some new features. Our aspiration is to have the 'best' website in our area of expertise, exceeding the present offerings of our direct competitors.
Our desire is to add a news section (please see our social media pages; we have lots to say!) and highlight our Case Studies with an interactive map. We will want the ability to edit the website ourselves and add new elements, such as photos and embedded videos, as we wish. We would also want to occasionally create new pages, as we do at present with the existing website.
In terms of navigation and content, several areas of the business have come to the fore since our last website refresh in 2017. Whilst piling will always be the main thrust of the business, we want to highlight other areas of Ivor King with increased emphasis. Examples include Plant and Pile Hire, Transport, and in particular our fledgling Training Centre.
We already have some idea of what we would like from a new website - better navigation via a mega menu, clean and simple design and a landing page with moving images to showcase the sort of company we are. But that is not to say we have a completely fixed vision of what it should look like - we remain very much open to ideas as well!"
Our team at ADAO loves a detailed brief with a breakdown of requirements. This really supported our creative team's understanding of the direction the team at Ivor king were looking to take, right from the outset and project kick off.
