Picture caption: The Myton Hospices is hoping to raise enough money to support a Myton at Home nurse to visit a patient at home throughout December
This is the second year running in which Myton is joining charities across the globe in the world’s biggest one-day fundraising campaign Giving Tuesday which aims to encourage people to think of those in need at a time of year when many of us are giving and receiving presents, and buying extra-special treats for the festive season.
Christmas is a wonderful time of the year for many people, but sadly life limiting and terminal illnesses don’t stop for Christmas. Myton doesn’t stop either; our Myton at Home nurses do their best to ensure people who are in the last days of their life are comfortable and their loved ones supported at home over the festive season.
The charity is encouraging supporters to get involved on social media by signing up to join Myton’s Pack. This will culminate in a mass tweet or status which will be sent from your Twitter and Facebook accounts on Giving Tuesday. All you have to do is sign up by visiting www.mytonhospice.org/pack ; it’s really quick to do and costs nothing so please show your support.
You could also help by donating unwanted goods to one of its 25 charity shops, or pledge to donate some time to volunteer at one of the shops or in one of its three hospices in Coventry, Rugby and Warwick.
