Temporary HVM Solutions protecting the nation’s largest events

Two weekends, five cities, three different sports, one music festival, one brand activation and over 300, 000 event attendees safeguarded by HVM Solutions Hire & Install provider StadiumTM.

Temporary HVM Solutions protecting the nation’s largest events

The past two weekends over 400 meters of temporary HVM solutions was deployed by StadiumTM. Combinations of HVM have been used by the company, using market leading, innovative solutions, designed and engineered right here in the UK.

Spaces are becoming multi-functional for all events, sport, cultural and music alike. The past two weekends demonstrated the changing landscape of how events approach security by both protecting people and physical assets. Mitigating risks and being proactive in the approach to Vehicle as a Weapon (VaaW) attacks. The events themselves were some of the largest and unique to the UK’s event calendar. The frequency of all events is a deciding factor to the methods and HVM Solutions used; temporary events require innovative temporary measures.

The nature of the event environment the HVM Solutions contributes to the choice of HVM Solution. Traditional methods like concrete blocks and steel barriers are cumbersome, hinder pedestrian flow and have the ability to create a fortressed ambiance to an event space. The two solutions chosen for the five events cause minimal disruption allow flow and can be deployed on the same day. This impacts all stakeholders, not just those attending the event. In major cities and the increase of population within that city for the duration of the event, this can largely and positively impact.

The events to work with the company were: Blackpool Illuminations Switch On, Coventry Godiva Festival, NFL London Live, Chester Racecourse Ladies Day and Burnley FC.

The 106th Blackpool Illuminations Switch-On weekend saw over 30.000 attendees on the Saturday night alone and 100m Solutions deployed. The Promenade became pedestrianised to allow maximum movement and safeguard. The event will continue for a further sixty-six days and will see over four million people marvel at the lights.

The UK’s largest free festival, the Coventry Godiva held in Coventry’s War Memorial Park. Similar to the illuminations saw over 150,000 attendees, all going to watch headline acts like Jake Bugg, Editors and Ronan Keating along with huge areas of family, children and fun fair activities. StadiumTM familiar with the Park as earlier this year HVM was provided for Coventry’s BBC Biggest Weekend event.

NFL London Live brand activation, a daylong event held on September 8th saw the gathering of thousands of NFL fans in Piccadilly London. The event promoted the NFL London Games held in October to be held at Wembley. The event saw cheerleaders, former & current NFL Players and a live screening in one of the countries busiest and most recognisable landmarks.

Chester Racecourse, the oldest racecourse in the country has worked with StadiumTM since the beginning of May and a deployment of over 100m has been completed each race meet, in eight locations surrounding the racecourse.

Lastly, Burnley FC, the very first Premier League club and first HVM Solutions client since StadiumTM’s HVM Solution launch last November has HVM in two locations on the major road closure outside of Turf Moor Stadium. The feedback from both club and fans over the season has been extremely positive with fans supporting the clubs decision to put the safety of them first.

Managing Director of StadiumTM, said: “Event requirements and public spaces security are now in the same realm. As events and spaces continue to diversify, we are pleased to meet the requirements and be able to deliver flexibly. The safety of crowds is what drives us and our commitment to this knows no bounds. We want to bring people together to enjoy their communities, each other and experience wonderful public events.”
