The first half will be a formal fine-dining dinner provided by Scullery 33, one of Stratford’s highest rated restaurants. During the meal, light classical music provided by students from King Edwards School. The second half will be more invigorating, with fun music being provided by talented and popular local musicians, Scratchy Beard.
The aim of the ball is to raise funds for three of Stratford’s best-loved charities, the Shakespeare Hospice, Springfield Mind and Lifeways Natural Health Charity.
There will also be a bottle tombola and a raffle with some excellent prizes provided by a range of local businesses including Loxleys Restaurant & Wine Bar, Pragnell: Fine Jewellery and Anytime Fitness
The venue will be Stratford’s historic Town Hall, with the dining in the council chamber and the music and dancing held in the Ball Room.
Claudine Pearson from Springfield Mind said: “It is wonderful that the Mayor has chosen us to be one of the charities he is supporting this year and particularly exciting that this is a fresh take on the traditional ball.”
James Pavitt from Lifeways Natural Health Charity said: “The idea for this ball is excellent. A tremendous blend of tradition and local talent in order to raise funds for three local charities.”
Caroline Lawrence from The Shakespeare Hospice said: “We are delighted to be one of the Mayor’s chosen charities and to be involved with the Spring Ball which will help raise vital funds for all three charities.”
The Mayor of Stratford, Counsellor John Bicknell said: “It has been my privilege to be Mayor of Stratford this past year, and as part of my role I wanted to provide a ‘thank you’ gift to the people of Stratford that they will enjoy at the same time as benefiting local causes.”
Tickets for the Ball are just £35 and are available from the Town Hall, Lifeways and through Springfield Mind and the Shakespeare Hospice.
