Ricoh Arena set for big rugby double-header

Rugby supporters can watch England’s Guinness Six Nations clash against Wales as part of a double-header of rugby at Ricoh Arena later this month.

Those attending Wasps’ big Gallagher Premiership clash with Sale Sharks on Saturday 23 February (kick-off 2.00pm) will be able to head to the lower halls of the Ericsson Indoor Arena straight afterwards to catch the heavyweight Guinness Six Nations clash (kick-off 4.45pm).

Dai Young’s side head into their game with league rivals Sale looking to do the double over their opponents and strengthen their chances of securing a play-off spot in the Gallagher Premiership.

The Guinness Six Nations match between Wales and England could also see Wasps’ Wales international Thomas Young come up against his English club teammates Elliot Daly, Joe Launchbury, Nathan Hughes and Dan Robson.

England stole victory in the final moments on their last visit to Cardiff in 2017, and have emerged victorious in each of the last five Six Nations ties against their Welsh neighbours.

Wasps Community and Matchday Marketing Manager Verity Brown said: “We have a crucial afternoon of rugby lined up at Ricoh Arena both on the domestic and international stages with Wasps looking to strengthen their grip on the top four, and the Six Nations reaching its halfway stage.

“Many people will be torn between heading out to watch their club team or watching their country, but if you’re a Wasps or Sale Sharks fan, then we have the perfect solution.

“This is a great opportunity to watch a host of international stars play live at Ricoh Arena and on the TV afterwards. There’s a lot to play for in both games, and is also the perfect way for any sport-loving families to round off the half-term holiday.”

Those wishing to watch Wales versus England at Ricoh Arena should enter the Ericsson Indoor Arena’s lower halls via the south entrance to the stadium, adjacent to The Clubhouse.

Tickets to Wasps versus Sale Sharks start from £17 for adults, with under 10s going free in certain areas and can be purchased by visiting www.wasps.co.uk.
