One organisation that will be joining in the party is WCG, the award-winning group of further and higher education colleges based across Warwickshire and Worcestershire. WCG is one of the UK’s leading providers of apprenticeships and offers a range of apprenticeship programmes from six of it seven colleges.
During National Apprenticeship Week 2019 the WCG Apprenticeship team is staging a number of free employer events for a range of industry sectors to showcase how apprenticeships work for employers and the wider economy.
These include a Motor Vehicle Employer event from 6-8pm on 5 March at Warwick Trident College and Rugby College on 12 March, an Engineering Employer Breakfast from 8-10am on 6 March at Warwick Trident and Evesham College on 8 March and a Fabrication and Welding Employer Breakfast at Royal Leamington Spa from 8-10am on 7 March. There is also an employer drop-in event from 10am-2pm at Pershore College on 4 March.
The college group has strong apprenticeship achievement rates and is referred to as a ‘pioneer’ in trailblazing apprenticeship standards and ‘leading the way’ as an educational institution. It is proud to have played a part in training the first engineering degree apprentices in England in partnership with the University of Warwick and a leading advanced manufacturing employer.
Nationally, WCG Apprenticeships works with 1100+ employers and trains over 2500 apprentices every year in a wide range of industry sectors from hospitality to IT and from horticulture to engineering. Its apprenticeship provision is designed to meet employer and economic needs which means 80 percent of apprenticeships are in technical subjects.
