Mander Hadley’s Wills weeks raise hundreds for local hospice care

The dedicated Wills team at Coventry and Kenilworth-based law firm, Mander Hadley, have managed to raise more than £1,800 for The Myton Hospices and Zoe’s Place with their latest Make a Will Week events.

Both of the firm’s offices supported the recent Make a Will Week campaigns, which offered people the chance to prepare a will free of charge in return for a donation to the two local charities.

Mander Hadley’s teams worked hard to promote this opportunity and thanks to their efforts £930 was raised for Zoe’s Place and £945 has been raised for The Myton Hospices as a result of generous donations.

In addition to supporting the Myton Hospices during Wills week, members of the Mander Hadley team went one step further and took part in the annual Myton Glow Run – a 5k ‘after dark’ fun event which took place around the streets of Coventry.

Jonathan Hall, Managing Director at Mander Hadley Solicitors, said: “I’m delighted that we’ve once again been able to raise so much for both Zoe’s Place and The Myton Hospices through their Make a Will Week events and would like to thank our team and those who made donations.

“Making a Will is something that is often overlooked, either due to time or the perceived cost, so we are glad that we could offer up our expertise to not only help people prepare a will but also raise so much for these fantastic causes.

“Praise also has to go to our staff who helped to light up Coventry city centre in their glow in the dark outfits during the Myton Glow Run. We hope the money we raised will help fund the fantastic care that these two charities provide to local people.”

The Myton Hospices provide in-patient care in Coventry, Rugby and Warwick as well as in the community, while Zoe’s Place, Coventry provides palliative, respite and end of life care to babies and infants aged from birth to five years.

Jonathan added that writing or updating a Will had enabled clients to benefit from the peace of mind of knowing that their estates will be distributed amongst the correct beneficiaries after their deaths and to plan to limit any tax liabilities so that wealth can be passed on effectively to other family members, friends and charities.
