A conference or meeting could be combined with a bit of high-octane fun as a brand new high ropes course is opening in the region.

Go Ape is coming to Coombe Abbey in the spring and it will be the very first in Coventry and Warwickshire.

In a bid to appeal to all markets it will be tailoring packages both for leisure and business – meaning it could be a great location for team-building with a difference.

The course will feature a whole host of hair-raising obstacles and work is expected to get started on soon in Coombe Abbey Park.

Richard Harrison, managing director of Coombe Abbey Park Limited, is pleased to have the attraction coming to the park and thought is offered something completely different to the area.

He said: “We’re absolutely thrilled that Go Ape has chosen to build its first course in Coventry and Warwickshire here at Coombe Abbey.

“As well as being great for local residents, the course will be a unique attraction for businesspeople looking to have a bit of fun while attending a conference at the hotel.

“It would also be a brilliant choice for those looking to book a company away day or try a team-building exercise with their employees.

“Where else could you find a top-class conference venue with a high ropes course right next to it?”

Rugby Borough Council’s planning committee, which is the governing authority for Coombe Abbey, gave the green light for Go Ape in December 2018.

Around 30 jobs are expected to be created for the site, which will open from February to December each year.

The nearest Go Ape site is currently at Cannock Chase in Staffordshire, while the company has so far established 33 locations in the UK and 16 in the USA.
