The First Friends at Henley Nursery, which has more than 100 children aged up to four on its roll, has been given the rating after a recent inspection, with senior staff pointed out for particular praise thanks to their safeguarding skills and welcoming attitude.
The nursery was judged to be good in all areas including outcomes for children; teaching, learning and assessment; personal development, behaviour and welfare as well as leadership and management.
The Ofsted report reads: “The nursery is very welcoming to visitors, parents and children.
“Staff help children settle on arrival.
“Familiar staff cuddle and comfort new children to the nursery and gradually engage them in activities.
“Staff fully understand their responsibilities in protecting children from harm and neglect.
“Senior designated staff who oversee safeguarding follow their Local Safeguarding Children Board procedures immediately when the need arises.”
The nursery, staffed by 10 members of staff who are all Level 3 qualified, is split into four different indoor play and learning spaces: Baby Room, Inbetweeneis, Tweenie Toddler Room and a Preschool room.
There is also a large outdoor play area containing a large climbing adventure area and an additional Forest School area.
Joanne Buckley, Childcare Manager at the First Friends at Henley Nursery, said: “We are always striving to provide the highest level of care possible for our children and aim to prepare them for the next stage of their educational development as well as possible.
“To have been rated as ‘good’ by Ofsted is a testament to the hard work of our staff and our commitment to maintaining the high standards we set for ourselves.
“We have a great team here and have built positive relationships with the children and their families, which all feeds into the positive atmosphere we want to create.
“I would like to thank all of our staff for the hard work they put in to keeping our standards so high.”
