Based in Southam, the Pride of Stratford Awards Business of the Year Winners 2018 saw a sharp increase in take up last year, with the annual Polo in the Park, Ladies Day, Equestrian Day and Bonfire Night festivities all achieving record attendances.
Victor Ludorum marks the start of the Summer Events Season at Dallas Burston Polo Club, with an incredible 2-week international tournament displaying some of the highest-goal polo in the country. The tournament comes to a head on May 26th as the team’s face-off for the finals of the DBPC stage.
The ever-popular and ever-glamourous Ladies’ Day returns on June 15th. This fancy fixture stands out as one of the swankiest sporting events in Warwickshire, with competitions for Best-Dressed Ladies, Best Hat and, a first for 2019 – the Best Dressed Gentleman. VIP guests will experience polo from the brand-new extension to the Colonial Clubhouse – The Cloud Pavilion – a raised venue with a glass-exterior offering spectacular views over the premier polo grounds. Also returning this year is the popular game of Heads ‘n’ Tails and the exciting live charity auction, this year supporting The Shakespeare Hospice and The Princes’ Trust UK.
The annual Fine & Country Warwickshire Gold Cup will be an all-day polo tournament on July 7th, featuring for the second time in the tournament’s 10-year history, a VIP hospitality package as well as the traditional picnic in the park. This will be followed by Equestrian Day on August 11th, the yearly family-friendly celebration that includes demonstrations from a range of equestrian disciplines, Polo matches, exhibitors and farmers market stalls around the SuperArena®. 2019 will also see the introduction of the brand new Stoneythorpe Beer Festival, giving attendees the chance to experience the new brews of the region.
The biggest polo tournament of the season, Polo in the Park, comes to DBPC on September 1st. Following a record breaking 2018, the event will continue to showcase high calibre Polo matches, offering visitors the opportunity to browse stalls along the shopping avenue, take a ride at the family-friendly funfair and enjoy refreshments in the brand-new Picnic in the Paddock area, complete with a bar and gin demonstrations led by British Polo Gin.
As always, the DBPC Bonfire Night spectacular will round-things off in style. Over 7000 guests attended the previous event, which included a mini-funfair, food stalls, a giant bonfire and a fabulous professional firework display, choreographed and launched by Komodo Fireworks.
