The firm’s Alastair Frew, Michael Wakeling and David Lodder cycled the final 18-mile leg of a six-week marathon relay bike ride around the UK raising funds for the Farming Community Network (FCN).
The trio took the bike ride’s baton – that had already travelled 170 locations along a 3,700-mile journey across the length and breadth of England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales – on its final journey from Lodders’ Stratford upon Avon offices to the ride’s finish line at the NFU headquarters at Stoneleigh.
“It was a super event, and our leg of the six-week marathon bike ride took in some of Warwickshire’s most beautiful countryside, before we reached the grand finish and a parade lap of the NFU’s headquarters at Stoneleigh,” said Alastair Frew.
Organised by the Grain and Feed Trade Association and UK Grain and Feed Trade Associations, and hailed as the biggest event of its type ever attempted by the agricultural supply trade, the bike ride has so far raised more than £40,000 of the target £100,000.
The final amount will be unveiled in November at the annual BCFTA dinner in London.
