Property developers AC Lloyd, whose headquarters is in Tachbrook Park, Warwick, is delighted to be supporting A Taste of Leamington as its main sponsor.
A Taste of Leamington will return for its third successive year to raise money for Parkinson’s UK as well as other local Rotary Club charities.
Guests will have the opportunity to explore a range of cuisines in some of Leamington’s most exclusive establishments, all in the space of one evening.
Organisers are hoping for around 200 participants to join them this month (October) in a bid to top last year’s fundraising total of £2,600.
Volunteers at the Rotary Club of Royal Leamington Spa will take guests on a tour of many of the town’s fine-dining spots, with each establishment looking to impress diners with a specially prepared three-course meal.
Event organiser and Rotary Club member Linda John said: “My father has Parkinson’s so I was helping at a local fundraiser when I got chatting to a fellow Parkinson’s supporter. We started talking about how we could raise money for the charity through the Rotary Club and help local charities at the same time.
“Luckily, one of our Rotary members has a strong relationship with AC Lloyd. We then got in touch with Chairman Peter Beddoes, who was more than happy to get involved.
“AC Lloyd’s sponsorship is a huge bonus to us. It will help us out with all the things that make this event possible. That, in turn, allows us to raise as much money as possible for Parkinson’s research and awareness as well as some of our Rotary charities.
“The costs of putting on an event like this often come out of the profits that would have gone to the likes of Parkinson’s UK.
“The fact AC Lloyd has come on board means that we are able to have a bigger impact and do some real good, whilst also boosting the profile of the event.”
Starting at 6.30pm on Tuesday, October 16, guests will be greeted at Leamington Town Hall with a drinks reception before being escorted to one of the many independent restaurants taking part.
The list of stops so far includes: Oscar’s French Bistro, Mem Saab, Sabai Sabai, Tartine Bistro and Wine Bar, Momenti, Eleven, Valles at 44, and The Drawing Board – more exciting announcements are set to be made closer to the event.
Peter Beddoes, Chairman at AC Lloyd, spoke of his pride at supporting the cause.
He said: “When we first learned of this opportunity to support such a great cause, we were eager to get involved from the beginning.
“It’s a fundraiser with a difference, and I think it could do some real good. Hopefully our input will make it the best it possibly could be.
“I’d like to congratulate Linda on all the work, her and the Rotary Club have done over the last two years, and I’m sure this year’s event will be a big hit.
“At AC Lloyd, we’re always looking at ways we can give back to people in our community and I can’t think of many better causes to benefit from this event.”
Tickets for the evening are £35, and are available via Eventbrite. For more information, or to get involved, please contact Linda John at [email protected]
