Coventry stables rides into expansion thanks to Skills 4 Growth

Moor Farm Stables Equestrian Centre in Corley Moor, Coventry has been able to expand its business thanks to the Coventry and Warwickshire Skills 4 Growth Project.

Coventry stables rides into expansion thanks to Skills 4 Growth

The project is delivered by Coventry City Council, in partnership with Warwickshire County Council and a number of local delivery partners.

The stables and equestrian centre has been operating for 49 years in Corley Moor, Coventry, and welcomes hundreds of people each week for riding lessons, as well as students who train in career courses.

Moor Farm prides itself on its continuous professional development and training opportunities for its staff, enabling all its employees to achieve their full potential and ensuring students and customers receive excellent lessons and tuition.

With help from the Skills 4 Growth team, Moor Farm was able to organise and fund accredited training for 4 members of staff in Level 2 UK Coaching Certificates.  With the new training, the stables have been able to add new courses and cater to new audiences.

Liz White, the owner of Moor Farm Stables, said: “It is important for any rural business to look at ways of growing their business and by continually improving the training of staff, we will be able to offer more courses to new audiences”

“The support of the Skills 4 Growth programme has been invaluable because it is vital we keep staff up to date and trained to the highest possible standards. I’d certainly recommend the Skills 4 growth project – the team we worked with were very helpful and knowledgeable.”

The Skills 4 Growth Project supports Coventry and Warwickshire based Small to Medium Enterprises in various sectors, working with the company to identify and address skills gaps in order to grow and achieve business growth, including organising and funding training.

Councillor Jim O’Boyle, Cabinet Member for Jobs and Regeneration at Coventry City Council, said: “I’m really pleased that we can continue to support local businesses to help them grow into new areas and in the process to protect and create jobs”

“Small and medium sized businesses play a vital role in the economy of our city and we are putting this European funding to good use to ensure they can thrive and grow.”

The project is partly funded by the European Social Fund and receives further funding from Coventry City Council and Warwickshire County Council.
