Dr. Stefaan Vossen (DC) founder and Clinical Director with chiropractor Dr Emma Rush and osteopath Katie North.
The appointment of chiropractor Dr Emma Rush and osteopath Katie North further strengthens the expertise of the 25-strong multi-disciplinary team – which includes a GP, physiotherapist, exercise professionals, complementary therapists and psychologists.
Since establishing their first clinic in 2009 in Warwick with a single clinician – Clinical Director, Dr. Stefaan Vossen (DC) – the team have gone from strength to strength, opening a second clinic in Hatton in late August 2015 and having treating almost 10,000 patients.
In spite of their success, Core Clinics are still somewhat of a ‘hidden gem’. Joli Knott, Patient Care Partner at Core Clinics says ‘Even though we look after patients from all over the country – even some who travel from abroad to see us - we are always being told by local people coming to us for the first time that they didn’t know we were here. We are in quite a secluded but beautiful location on the Hatton Estate which our patients love but it also means that people who live just up the road are still just discovering us’.
The vision and driving force behind Core Clinics, Stefaan Vossen, is a member of one of Europe’s foremost clinical families – with over 20 doctors and clinicians, including his uncle and mentor Dr. Jean Pierre Meersseman, former Medical Director of AC Milan Football Club and founder of MilanLab (widely considered the gold standard in sports healthcare). Stefaan’s sister, Dr. Marie Vossen (DC) is also a chiropractor at the Hatton clinic.
Stefaan says ‘Marie and I grew up in a family of passionate and exceptional clinicians and had the privilege of learning from some of the world’s best in terms of sports and integrated healthcare’. Core’s multi-disciplinary team look after many professional and keen amateur sportspeople, ranging from dozens of international sportspeople, Olympians and World champions, to para-athletes and local heroes.
New chiropractor Dr Emma Rush says ‘Although sports performance healthcare is definitely a speciality of the clinic, the majority of our patients are ‘ordinary’ people who want the very best of healthcare for themselves and their families, or who have looked far and wide for help with chronic problems before they found us. I was attracted to Core because the evidence overwhelmingly shows that patients achieve significantly better outcomes with a multi-disciplinary treatment plan than in a single-profession clinic.’
Osteopath Katie North says ‘I’ve previously worked in Canada where it’s quite typical to find osteopaths, chiropractors and professionals in related fields working together. I have seen for myself how much more quickly and fully patients recover by working with an integrated team and I am excited to be working at Core Clinics, which is one of the few places I have found in the UK that embraces this working model.
Stefaan says ‘I am delighted to welcome Emma and Katie to the team and look forward to benefitting from their expertise to the benefit of our patients.’
