Provisional Certificate of Standard Scratch Score
The Course has now been granted a Provisional SSS and this will be incorporated on the next Score Card print run- the tee boxes will be updated to represent the new Yardages and this will take place in the Spring when the new Medal Tees are able to be used.
Handicaps
- Now that we are affiliated to EGU we will be in a position to award/adjust/monitor Handicaps as part of the CONGU Unified Handicapping System.
- A minimum of 54 holes are required to be completed as part of the process and each card needs to be signed by a marker who ‘knows what they are doing’. Handicaps do not necessarily need to be from Competitions but the player will need to identify which tees they have played from.
- There will be a requirement for a Handicap Committee to consist of a minimum of 3 members so I will be looking for active Members to volunteer.
Rules of Golf 2019
Golf is undergoing its most radical reform for many years–primarily to make the game more attractive & encourage more participants. This has led to several new Rule changes for 2019, the most obvious being:
- Rule 18.2a 3 minute ruling on searching for ‘lost balls’
- Rule 13.2a The flagstick may now be left in the hole
- Rule 17 Penalty Areas is the new name for areas marked with yellow & red stakes

2019 Golf Competitions
It is our intention to hold a variety of Competitions during 2019- if any Members have any ideas/initiatives for Comps all input would be greatly welcomed. As Ardencote Golf is very much in its infancy prizes/awards will be fairly nominal in nature although it is our intention to offer silverware for certain events.

Golf Member - £480
Golf & Leisure Club Member - £420*
2. Pay via Standing Order Mandate
Golf Member - £40/month
Golf & Leisure Club Member - £35/month*
(*These fees apply to Golfers who are Leisure Club Members & are additional to existing Leisure Club Fees.
3. If the above rates are not an option then anyone who wishes to play Golf will be able to Pay & Play for a Green Fee of £15 per day weekdays and £25 per day Weekends & Bank Holidays.
