Another amazing year for Dallas Burston polo club

Another amazing year for Dallas Burston polo club

Dallas Burston Polo Club has enjoyed another successful year in business, supporting its mission to become one of the leading hospitality venues in the Midlands.

Named the Pride of Stratford Awards Business of the Year for 2018, the Southam based entertainment and events venue has seen Wedding business continue on an upward path; with Western and Asian wedding parties choosing the club for its unique location and facilities. In recognition of this, DBPC was recently announced as winners of the Best Purpose-built Venue award in the MAWA (Midlands Asian Weddings Awards) 2018 – a title they have held on two other occasions.

Conference and events bookings for the impressive IXL Events Centre maintained steady growth with the venue attracting a range of new businesses including the famous Silverstone Auctions.
Social events also saw a sharp increase in take up, with the annual Polo in the Park, Ladies Day, Equestrian Day and Bonfire Night festivities all achieving record attendances.

DBPC has continued their fundraising activities for various local charities, with £1,000 raised at the Charlotte Trophy for Helen & Douglas House, £14,000 for The UK Sepsis Trust and The Prince’s Trust at Ladies Day and over £3,000 raised for The Shakespeare Hospice at the Bonfire Night extravaganza.

Bosses at the club say they are delighted with the growth in the business and believe some of the success is due to the continued development of the region.

Director of Operations for the Dallas Burston Group, Major Richard Carney MBE, said: “It’s been another record-breaking year for the business, with more and more people visiting the club.

“We have seen our events and conference bookings increase dramatically which is fantastic news as we have placed a strong focus on that side of the business in 2018. And we have invested in the latest technology in the IXL event centre, to cater for all types of events, from car launches through to 700 guest weddings.

The newest development, Polo Hotel, is well underway and scheduled to open in Spring 2019. This new addition to our service offering will see the creation of hundreds of skilled and unskilled jobs for the region by 2025.

The Millstone Hare Pub has provided another revenue stream and forms part of our 12-year plan.

We are on track to transform the Estate into a top destination venue and there are exciting times ahead for the business. We are confident that visitor numbers will continue to increase as more and more individuals and businesses see what we have to offer here in the heart of the Midlands.”

From next year, the local community is set to benefit from significant investment in Dallas Burston Polo Club, as the 600-acre site is currently going through a decade long £122m expansion that will include new features such as two four- and five-star hotels, on top of the current outstanding facilities for sports, weddings and events. This expansion will see hundreds of new jobs created and an increase in visitor footfall, with the centralised location providing a new customer base for local retailers and restaurateurs throughout the region.

In recent times, new attractions at Dallas Burston Polo Club have included camel polo, fun-fairs and university polo tournaments. Picnicking around the pitches can be as affordable or luxurious as a visitor desires, with many attendees visiting the grounds simply to enjoy the stunning setting and first-class facilities on offer.

The multiple award-winning Dallas Burston Polo Club features Europe’s largest all-weather SuperArena® for equestrian events, six polo grounds, a colonial Clubhouse, wedding venues, the IXL Events Centre and The Millstone Hare – a £2.4m Olde English styled pub with state-of-the-art facilities and incredible views over the grounds.
