Meet your Local Business Forum Chair

The Coventry Local Business Forum, led by Tim Squires, offers its members a chance to stay updated on local matters. Members can hear from local MPs and Council Officials on a micro-level and get a chance to express their opinions on issues that affect businesses.

Tim Squires is Director of Squires Gear & Engineering in Coventry, a CNC Machined Component manufacturer supplying the automotive, motorsport and various other sectors. As well as his community responsibilities as acting chair of Coventry's Local Business Forum, Tim also serves as a board member of Coventry & Warwickshire Chamber. Explore Coventry’s Economic landscape

Coventry has long been a cornerstone of the UK automotive industry, with a strong focus on innovation and supply chain management. The city is home to major automotive companies and research institutions, contributing to its reputation as an automotive hub. 10% of all UK automotive jobs are based here in Coventry.

The West Midlands region hosts a mature automotive sector linked to a national and international supply chain, with an economic value of £3.2bn. The region's strategic initiatives in electric and autonomous vehicle technologies are positioning Coventry at the forefront of the industry's future developments, which could lead to the awarding of a Gigafactory, with that project injecting £2.5bn investment into the region and creating up to 6,000 new highly skilled jobs directly and many more in the supply chain.
