Explore Coventry’s Economic landscape
Coventry has long been a cornerstone of the UK automotive industry, with a strong focus on innovation and supply chain management. The city is home to major automotive companies and research institutions, contributing to its reputation as an automotive hub. 10% of all UK automotive jobs are based here in Coventry.
The West Midlands region hosts a mature automotive sector linked to a national and international supply chain, with an economic value of £3.2bn. The region's strategic initiatives in electric and autonomous vehicle technologies are positioning Coventry at the forefront of the industry's future developments, which could lead to the awarding of a Gigafactory, with that project injecting £2.5bn investment into the region and creating up to 6,000 new highly skilled jobs directly and many more in the supply chain.
