Event Detail

This full day programme covers the requirements that exporters need for ensuring correct export documentation when trading internationally.

Correct documents are vital to keep goods moving to avoid delays, extra charges and even possible loss of the goods

Combining long-established principles with current documentary procedures, the programme is designed to ensure that exporters remain both legally compliant and cost-effective.

Once the necessary foundations are established, the programme takes the exporter on a chronological journey of the documents required for typical export shipments, “from packing to payment”. There is a special section on EU trade documents.

Establishing Solid Foundations: Exporter’s legal obligations, a study of critical documentary content, legal requirements for administration and record keeping, the necessary sources of information.

The documents covered: The Exporter’s usual commercial documents, official documents the exporter produces for export and to enable import, booking the shipment with the freight forwarder, Customs’ clearance at export, proofs of export for sea. Air, road and courier, insurance certificates.

The critical information required for each is discussed – using real documents produced by real exporters and referring to real case studies based on real experience.

Informative course slides and supporting documents are provided to ensure delegates understand WHAT the documents are, WHERE they are obtained from, WHO is responsible for them and (most importantly) WHY they are required

A useful post-programme “things to do list” is also provided.
