Main duties and responsibilities
You will be responsible for the design and delivery of Adult Care, Lead Adult Care and Care Leadership apprenticeship programmes from levels 2 to 5, managing a caseload of apprentices and the delivery of learning sessions in adult care.
Role and responsibilities:
Inducting Candidates
- Complete induction in the workplace with apprentices and employers
- Design an Individual Training Plan (ITP) using initial assessment results
- Agree relevant on and off the job training
- Plan target achievement dates for each aspect of learning
- Design of learning and development programmes to meet individual and employer needs in line with apprenticeship funding requirements
Training
- Plan and design curriculum in line with apprenticeship standards, individual and employer needs
- Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and learning resources
- Deliver training sessions to national standards at levels 2, 3, 4 and 5 to groups of apprentices in the workplace or at Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber Training’s dedicated training facility
- Design course materials and other documents such as hand-outs, manuals and exercises
- Prepare the learning environment and resources
- Deliver engaging training sessions, including the use of technology
- Embed maths and English skills development into learning
- Embed personal skills development, including professional behaviours, equality and diversity etc
- Support, advise and motivate apprentices to complete work within planned timescale
- Provide consistent delivery of 'good’ or 'outstanding’ teaching and learning
Assessment
- Prepare apprentices and their employers for assessment
- Conduct the assessment of apprentices in the workplace using appropriate technology
- Provide constructive feedback to apprentices and their employers
- Set and agree targets and timescales with apprentices and their employers
- Provide ongoing support and encouragement to apprentices
Monitoring & Review
- Undertake regular progress reviews with apprentices and employers
- Ensure individual plans of learning are reviewed and updated
- Set and agree targets and timescales with apprentices and employers
- Monitor and maintain timely achievement of agreed targets
- Provide apprentices with feedback
- Participate in standardisation activities to improve practice
- Support apprentices to prepare for end point assessment
- Manage arrangements for end point assessment
Person Specification:
- Adult Care Qualification at level 3 or above – Essential
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (for travel to employer premises) – Essential
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to undergo a DBS check if successful – Essential
- Passionate about health and social care education and supporting learner development – Essential
- Flexible and adaptable to meet individual and employer needs – Essential
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team – Essential
- Ability to engage, support, and motivate learners through face-to-face sessions - Essential
- Excellent organisational and time management skills – Essential
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written – Essential
- Ability to motivate and engage learners from diverse backgrounds – Essential
- Problem solving skills with a proactive approach – Essential
- Ability to maintain accurate and timely records and reports – Essential
Desirable:
- A1/D32/D33 Assessor (CAVA) qualification.
- Recognised teaching qualification (PTLLS, AET, or equivalent). We can support tutors to gain a teaching qualification if successful.
- Internal Quality Assurance qualification IQA/V1/D34.
- Strong knowledge of apprenticeship standards and assessment requirements.
- Experience delivering apprenticeships and supporting learners through End-Point Assessment (EPA).
- Competent with IT systems, including e-portfolios.
